Industries

Nineteen industries. One capture method.

The building type changes and the vocabulary changes. The camera, the accuracy and the deliverables do not. Find yours below — or tell us what you have and we will scope it.

What these have in common

The list looks scattered until you notice that every industry on it shares the same five conditions. If your situation has them, this is worth buying; if it does not, it probably is not, and you can decide that without a sales call:

  1. Something requires current, accurate drawings of a physical space — a regulator, an accreditation body, a lender, a contract, or a design about to be built.
  2. The requirement recurs, because buildings change and the documentation goes stale.
  3. The budget sits with a facilities, compliance or operations role rather than a marketing one, which means it survives a bad quarter.
  4. Failure has a date attached — a survey, an audit, a grant deadline, a closing, a trial.
  5. The incumbent solution is an old drawing nobody trusts.

Where all five are true, the documentation is not discretionary spend. It is the cheapest item in a chain of expensive consequences.

Where the largest jobs are

Regulated facilities

Healthcare and life safety, cannabis, senior living, schools and campuses. Mandated, recurring, budgeted.

Buildings under construction

Home builders, progress documentation, pre-drywall. Sold on liability rather than marketing, which is why it survives budget review.

Assets being valued or traded

Commercial property, self-storage and multifamily, rentable area verification. The measurement is the multiplier on the transaction.

Buildings with a claim attached

Restoration and insurance, litigation and forensic, Xactimate ESX. Deadline-driven, and the condition disappears fast.

Complex operating facilities

Data centers, industrial and manufacturing, commercial solar. Highest job values on the list.

Buildings that are also the product

Hospitality and resorts, museums and exhibits, historic preservation. Marketing and facilities funded from one capture.

If your industry is not listed

The list is descriptive, not restrictive — it reflects where the work has come from, not where it can go. Run your situation against the five conditions above. If it matches, the fact that nobody has written a page about your sector yet makes no difference to the capture, the deliverables or the price, all of which are the same regardless of what is in the building.
