An estimator walks a loss with a laser measure and a phone, then spends two hours building a sketch in Xactimate from notes. If the scope expands — and it usually does — someone drives back out, or the sketch gets adjusted from memory.
Every dimension in that estimate traces back to a hand measurement taken once, in a damaged building, under time pressure.
A capture takes about fifteen minutes and produces an ESX sketch plus measured wall geometry you can pull any dimension from six months later. The measurements are traceable to a scan that is 99.5% accurate on distance, not to a memory.
Supplements. When scope grows, you re-measure from the file instead of re-visiting the site — and every number you submit is backed by dated, measured evidence an adjuster can verify.

As-found condition

What restoration contractors ask.
Does the ESX import cleanly into Xactimate?
Yes. The sketch is generated in ESX and imports directly. You estimate from it as you would from a sketch you built yourself — the difference is that the dimensions came from a scan rather than a tape.
How fast can you get to a loss?
Tell us the deadline when you call. Standard delivery is 48–72 hours after capture; rush is available at an uplift. For active mitigation timelines, say so up front, and we'll confirm in writing whether we can hit it.
Will an adjuster accept these measurements?
The capture is 99.5% accurate on distance and ANSI Z765 compliant, with dated measured geometry behind every number. That's substantially more defensible than a hand sketch. We can't speak for any individual carrier's process, but the underlying evidence is verifiable.
Can we scan before and after?
Yes, and it's the strongest version of this. Repeat captures on the same structure are priced below one-off rates.
What about occupied or partially unsafe structures?
We work around occupants and coordinate with your mitigation crew. Anywhere we can't safely walk, we can't capture — tell us the conditions during scoping, and we'll flag any gaps in the quote rather than after.
