By the time a matter is developed enough to know which dimension is dispositive, the stairs have been rebuilt, the slab has been poured over, the failed assembly is in a dumpster.
A photograph can only answer questions someone anticipated. A measured capture answers questions nobody thought to ask — because every distance in that space was recorded, whether or not anyone knew it would matter.
Riser height on the fourth tread. Clearance at the doorway. Slope across the walking surface. Ceiling height where the fixture was mounted. Those measurements exist in the file whether or not anyone asked for them on the day of capture.
We can be on site fast, and the record we leave with can be re-measured months later without anyone returning to a property that no longer exists in that condition.

The numbers, and what they're measured against.
The camera is laser-based. Wall distances are measured to within 1 cm — 99.5% accurate on distance, 99% on square footage. ANSI Z765 permits 2% uncertainty; the capture runs at about half the tolerance the standard allows. Stated either way, it is the manufacturer's published specification and nothing beyond it.
Every capture is dated. The measured wall geometry is a re-measurable record, not an interpretation — which means an opposing expert can measure the same file and get the same answer. That is a feature, not a risk.
We produce measured, dated, verifiable records of physical conditions. We do not offer opinions on causation, standard of care, or liability. If your matter needs an expert, we're the vendor your expert relies on — and we're available to testify to what was captured, when, and how.

How fast can you get to a site?
Tell us the deadline. Short-notice and emergency documentation ahead of demolition or repair is a routine part of this work, and mobilization inside 48 hours is available at an uplift.
Will you testify, and at what rate?
Yes — as to what was captured, when, with what equipment, and by whom. We testify to method and record. We do not offer opinions on causation, standard of care or liability; that's your expert's role. Rates are published above: $450/hr deposition with a four-hour minimum, $550/hr trial with a half-day minimum, $300/hr for review and prep, travel portal-to-portal at $180/hr. A $2,500 retainer is required before testimony is scheduled, and we never bill contingent on outcome.
Why are your testimony rates lower than an expert's?
Because we're not offering expert opinion. We authenticate a record — method, equipment, date, chain of custody — and that's a narrower job than forming and defending an opinion on causation. It also means there's very little for opposing counsel to attack: we state the manufacturer's published measurement specification and what we did on site, and nothing beyond it.
Can an opposing expert measure the same file?
Yes, and they should be able to. A DXF any qualified party can independently measure is far more durable than a record only one side can interpret.
What accuracy will you state on the record?

How long do you keep the files?

Access is your side; scheduling and joint-inspection coordination is ours. We work within whatever protocol the parties agree to.
Do you work outside Arizona?
Yes — anywhere in the US. We regularly quote Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, Colorado, California, Oregon, Idaho and Montana. Out-of-state engagements carry mobilization and a minimum daily engagement value. This capability is genuinely thin across the mountain west: most operators who have it are companies scanning their own properties, not firms selling the service. When the record has to exist before Monday, flying in a provider who does this professionally is usually the practical answer.
What survives cross-examination
Documentation offered as evidence gets attacked on process, not on aesthetics. The questions are always the same: who captured this, when, with what, how do we know it has not been altered, and what is the stated uncertainty of the measurement. A record that cannot answer those cleanly is worth less than no record, because it invites the argument rather than closing it.
The capture log
Every forensic engagement ships with a signed capture log as a PDF. It records date, arrival and departure times, operator name, equipment make, model and serial number, capture method, weather and site conditions, who granted access, and who else was present. It is a dull document, and it is the reason the rest of the file holds up.
Files are hashed on delivery and archived unaltered. If a question arises about whether what you are looking at is what came off the instrument, that is answerable rather than arguable.
Stated accuracy, published in advance
Wall distances are measured to within roughly one centimeter — about 0.5% on distance and 1% on area — against ANSI Z765, which permits 2%. We publish that figure before the engagement rather than being asked for it during one, and we will say the same number on the stand that appears on this page.
What this is not: it is not survey-grade, and it is not a terrestrial laser scan. For fabrication tolerances, boundary determination or anything requiring a licensed surveyor's seal, you want a different instrument, and we will tell you so at scoping rather than after. The scope boundary
We document. We do not opine. You will not get a causation theory, a liability opinion, a code interpretation or a stamped drawing from us, because those are somebody else's licensed work and offering them would compromise the one thing we are useful for. What you get is a measured, dated, defensible record of what a place looked like on a particular day — and testimony as to how it was produced, at a published rate.
Timing, which is usually the constraint
Scenes get released. Buildings get repaired, cleared, secured or demolished, and the condition that matters is frequently gone within days of anyone deciding it was important. If you are weighing whether a site is worth documenting, the answer is almost always yes and almost always now — capture is a few hours and a fraction of what a single deposition costs.
Matter files are archived for the life of the matter. Rush turnaround is available and priced on the pricing page, not negotiated when you are already under time pressure.
